The Supernatural in my Life
I'm just writing this to collect some of the supernatural occurrences that have happened to me over the span of my life. Some may appear to be natural, but I honestly believe God was at work in them.
The first is when I was high on marijuana and I had pulled a cobweb from someplace and I was listening to the band Tool (would not recommend listening to them. This was when I was not following the Lord). The cobweb instead of gradually falling to the ground was standing straight up as though someone was holding the other end above where I was holding it. Really freaked me out.
The second experience I can think of is when I was lying in bed, perhaps an inch from sleeping or actually asleep and I audibly heard the snarling of something like a demon. It terrified me and woke me up immediately. I was still very tired but it woke me up. I was not "awake" as in, all there mentally. It was as though someone would wake you up in the middle of deep rem sleep. This was also a time I was not following the Lord.
The third is when I met a man who changed my life forever. I remember talking to him and it was as though he was reading my mind quite literally. I would think of something to ask him and he would start to answer it spontaneously before I could ask him. Never met anyone else like him in my life. It is why I am so strong in my faith today. The man confirmed the Bible as the Word of God. I owe him a great deal.
The fourth, some short time after the previous one, I was lying in bed trying to sleep in the middle of the day and I heard an audible voice that said, "You bit." I was reminded of Satan in the garden of Eden during that event. There was no one else in the house at the time. The voice sounded neither adult nor child, male nor female, but instead like an immature deviant voice.
The fifth was when I was baptized and as I was walking back to the shore of the beach, some mallard ducks decided to land right at the side of where I was walking. I can't say for sure that this was a supernatural event, but it was quite impactful nonetheless.
The sixth was when I was told by the Lord to pray for one of my elder's wife where I sensed to pray that she would get a new heart. I didn't know at the time what this meant but what ended up happening was my elder's wife got a heart transplant sometime later.
The seventh was when I was called by the Lord to pray for healing for someone in Jesus' name. I wrote an article about this already. I prayed initially and a man's shoulder was put back into joint. The second time I prayed for him, when he went to the ER to get his shoulder checked out, they said his shoulder was fine. I'm not a doctor, but that seems to be impossible to explain by natural means.
The eighth was based on something I have written about as well. It was when I accidentally stepped on a toad and God miraculously healed the toad without me praying for it. Totally unexplainable by naturalistic means. The words of Jesus rang in my head after that were, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."
The ninth and tenth are based on something I have written about as well. One was a vision of heaven and one was a dream of hell. The vision was quite surreal. It was basically that I saw myself (or the person who it is for to comfort them) being shot through to the heavens and being in the presence of God. The dream of hell was about a figure who had a yellow glow to them and was not burned by the spiritual flames I saw on the ground.
The eleventh and twelfth were times when I saw the outline of a figure as if in a blue glowing light that had the image of a figure passing in my field of view. This has happened twice. Once when I was in my bed at night in the pitch black and I saw a kind of glow and an outline of a figure in the middle of the room above the ground and another when I was outside at night and I saw this kind of figure move passed my field of vision that seemed to move.
The thirteenth, and perhaps the most remarkable, at least to me, is that I heard an audible voice while lying in bed that said, "The Lord is here." It was so moving for me that I said out loud, "What is it, Lord?" I think the message was to encourage me that God is at work in my life and he has good things planned for me. I think this because the verse Jeremiah 29:11 has been prophesied over me multiple times without the other people knowing anything about it.
And those are some of the highlights from the supernatural experiences I cannot deny myself that actually happened. There have been many other times where God has "answered" my prayers before I pray them or other coincidences that I cannot explain, but these are not as solid in my mind as the other ones I mention here.
